How Do Fun Kids’ Games Affect Kids’ Development?

As adults most of us see games as just that, a game, perhaps a fun way to pass the time. When in reality fun kids games play a very important role in the intellectual development of children.

Games are the avenue young children use to learn about and explore the world. Think of games as their text book of sorts. Through fun games young children learn the concept of cause and effect. If they push a button the toy makes a noise. Games have a positive effect on physical development beginning at a very young age.

As children grow they begin exploring roll play and developing their imagination. Dressing up and playing with props become avenues to explore social behaviors that reinforce morals and values.

Once kids become school age they are able to participate in knowledge based games. They begin developing strategies, and understand the value of teamwork. Cooperation and collaboration become important skills to master.

Fun kids games are a way to stimulate creativity within a safe environment where children won’t be judged according to right and wrong. If the kids perceive the activity as fun they will enjoy it and eagerly participate without realizing the educational benefits hidden within.

We need to remember too that it is important to encourage games that are active. Children need exercise. Through active fun games kids develop large motor skills that they will benefit from the rest of their lives.

Although kids will view games as fun we mustn’t forget the importance games play in their development. Both physical and intellectual development is affected by games. We as adults must encourage kids to play as much as possible instead of sitting in front of the TV or computer.

Find it Games – Kids Version

Recently I was asked if I would be interested in reviewing a game by One parent who is a customer service representative for the company mentioned she has used this game as a way to keep her child entertained while potty training.

I had mixed feelings about the game but I was willing to try it out. What works for one parent may work for another.

Two weeks ago I received the game, the Kids version. It was a toss up between the kids or going to the zoo version they offered. As with the other versions available such as at the Beach or at the Zoo, there is a penny among many other items to look for.

In the kids version there is the letters of the alphabet among items such as the penny, baseball, top hat, marble, rubberband, balloon, and many more to find within thousands of beads. The games consist of a tubular device filled with beads along with items to search for. I chose the kids version but there are others such as Beach, Wizard of Oz and Zoo. While it does say for ages 8 to 98 as long as there is an adult supervising this really is a great game for a child working on potty training. It grabs their attention in a great, even educational way.

I honestly figured I would play with it for a short time and then it would find its way to the back of my closet. In just a few days I had my two boys ages 4 1/2 and 7 1/2 trying it out besides myself, and three other friends aged 49 to 66. We all became obsessed with the game in an attempt to find the penny. It is one of the funnest games to play, mess free!

Although it says for ages 8 to 98, this is a great game for parents to play along with their children while working on potty training. It definitely caught my youngest two children’s attention especially my soon to be 8 year old who is diagnosed as ADHD.

For parents of toddlers you can make potty training a fun time by adding a game from Find It Games. Let me tell you, it has been one of the funnest games and even more hilarious to watch grown ups nearly fight over who gets to play with it!

As I am writing this the game is on it’s way to Savannah, Georgia with my friends and their family. Seven people, adults to be exact, are probably fighting over it. I do hope it makes it back to me together in one piece!

And yes, we have found the penny! Hopefully someone will find the wiggle eye…
